PEGASUS - Berliner Beiträge zum Nachleben der Antike
in Kommission
A Periodical of the Census of Antique Art and Architecture known to the Renaissance.

Since the exodus of the warburg library, the german speaking art history has no location, where antiquities afterlife is discussed systematicly. The Census of Antique Works of Art and Architecture Known in the Renaissance now bridges this gap. It has become a central institution for this specific research area inside art history and all disciplines interested in antiquities afterlife. It is the goal of the CENSUS database to collect antique monuments documented in renaissance sources and open them to the research public.
As an addition to this instrument of classification and definition of source material since 1999 the periodical PEGASUS exists. It goes beyond the temporal borders of the CENSUS and tries to fix free ideas in the classic medium of a periodical.
PEGASUS is an interdisziplinary forum for questions on antiquities afterlife and is issued annual.
