Zur Farbigkeit der Ägineten.
Antique Greek sculpture cannot be imagined without its colouring, which makes it lifelike. Traces of these colours can be discovered today with the aid of modern technologies. Fantastic ornaments on clothes, seeing eyes, coloured skin and painted hair become visible on the marble bodies. Paris, Trojan prince and lover of beautiful Helen was displayed as an archer on the garble of the Aphaia temple of Aegina. Step by step his original appearance was reconstructed and documented on an artificial marble casting. This protocol of an approach alters our perceptions of antique times.
