All DYABOLA databases can also be researched in comfort through the
internet.
Registration is by means of IP-access or password (key). Soon there
will be some new databases with free access.
Demo Password:
If you are not yet a client, when you register you receive a demo
password, which is valid for a limited period. This is automatically
sent to you by eMail.
IP-Access:
Access via IP-Access is available for larger institutions since mid
April 2001. For private clients and small institutes the access via
password will remain.
Version:
The first DYABOLA Web Version was already established in 1997 for
an exhibition in Wörlitz (Winckelmann-Gesellschaft, Stendal: Winckelmann-Denkmäler).
With the Version 2.0 the CENSUS
was first presented to a large public during the exhibition "High
Renaissance in the Vatican" (KAH
Bonn). At present the Version 2.5 is available in the internet.
By April 2001 the complete functionality of the CD-ROM version will
be achieved. Some features of the version currently under development
are, in addition to improved user-friendly aspects, the possibility
to select between immediate detail or list display with large results,
a comfortable method of comparing images, the display of all special
letters, including those which do not belong to the Unicode-Standard,
plus more detailed help functions. The inquiry speed depends on the
bandwidth and on your own internet access. The CD-ROM versions will
continue to be useful for complex research and will remain available.
Inquiry license without CD-ROM:
At the moment internet inquiries of a database are only possible in
connection with the purchase of the matching CD-ROM. Inquiry licenses
without CD-ROM will be available when the question of payment has
been solved.
