DYABOLA - CENSUS-Manual
2.4 Search for a person or a location

We will be searching for works by Marten van Heemskerck.
Choose the heading 'Persons' in the quick search menu.

Insert the first four letters, i.e. 'Hee', into the field search string. The cursor is automatically positioned on the correct entry.

After pressing Return the abbreviated version of the entry (title card) is shown in the top left corner of your screen. This will serve as the starting point for the following navigation through the data:

Press the right arrow key to view the data sheet of the name authority:

(This illustration shows all entries on the data sheet. You will have to scroll up and down by using the cursor 'up' and 'down' keys.)
This page contains the variant names, the date of birth, the location etc, and the links to the renaissance documents. These links represent a list of works by the artist.
Move the cursor to one of the entries (e.g. Berlin, SMBPK, KK, Heemskerck Skh. I, fol. 10r)
Press 'f' to view a photograph (if available) of the work.
Press 's' (and subsequently the right arrow key) in order to obtain more information about the renaissance documents.

The search for a location is identical to the search for a person.
